Window glazing and shading can reduce energy use and associated emissions by reducing heat penetration through the windows from the sun.
- Align with facility assessments and target highest energy consuming buildings first.
- Initial target of Burke Museum since a facility assessment has already been conducted.
- Use facility assessments to determine feasibility for windows to be glazed across existing Council buildings.
- Consideration of window placement and treatments at pre-design stage for all new buildings.
