By developing an Energy Efficiency Register (EER), Council will be able to track our solar PV projects, facility assessments and other energy efficiency projects.
Rather than track our sustainability and emissions-reduction initiatives in yet another spreadsheet, our EER will be integrated into our Asset Management software (Unity). This allows staff seeking information about a Council asset to quickly access data in a centralised location.
The EER will include modules for targeted actions in our Emissions Reduction Plan (ERP). This includes projects like solar PV and battery installations, LED upgrades, and EV chargers.
Data within the modules will contain information helpful to asset and data managers, such as warranty information, system specifications, project costs and contractor details. The EER will record assessments for upgrades, and the rationale behind decisions around upgrades (e.g. limitations or opportunities presented by heritage status, planning overlays, building use or stakeholder management).
This action relates mainly to Scope 2 emissions, as well as Scope 3 emissions where leased buildings and facilities are involved.
Ensure key stakeholders are aware of EER reporting responsibilities and the power of the module.
Ensure existing data is uploaded.

Embedding the register as part of a dataset will enhance visibility, accountability and use.
