Emissions data completeness

Operational indicator

Data completeness is an indicator of how well ISC's emissions are captured. High data completeness indicates better data quality and more reliable estimates of ISC's emissions for a given period.

Data completeness is calculated by Trellis, using invoicing periods for utilities accounts or the presence of data for a given facility during a period of time.

More detailed summaries can be generated in Trellis by navigating to Dashboard, selecting date ranges, filtering by resources and/or facilities or facility groups, and examining the Data completeness graphics and reports generated by Trellis.

NB:

  • Year indicates the year in which the financial year starts; e.g. 2021 is FY 21-22.
  • For data which is supplied in once-off estimates (for example waste audits, older fleet fuel consumption prior to FY 21/22, LPG deliveries, and many Scope 3 providers who bill at the end of a project period or the end of the financial year), Trellis will underestimate data coverage. This means that for regularly invoiced utilities such as electricity and water, coverage will be high (typically 90-95%) but the number of sporadic invoices bring the overall coverage down (typically ~65%).
  • For data coming from leased facilities, e.g. electricity accounts from a leased building or building run by a Committee of Management, data is not yet complete. See our Action to better capture our leased facilities' consumption patterns.
