Since 2019, we've been tracking our greenhouse gas emissions with the help of the Trellis carbon accounting platform.
As the saying goes, 'you can't measure what you don't track', and that applies to any organisation aiming for Net Zero.
During the 2019/20 period, our emissions amounted to 6,366 tonnes of CO2-equivalent. That figure encompases all three scopes of emissions: Scope 1, 2 and 3.
To put it into perspective, each full-time employee was responsible for an average of 50 tonnes of emissions in 2019/20.
Now, we've set 2019/20 as our starting point or "emissions baseline" to gauge our progress as we take various measures to achieve certified Net Zero by 2035. It's an ambitious goal, but by closely monitoring our emissions and implementing actions, we're committed to making a positive change.
Unfortunately, we have had some internal challenges getting our emissions data across to our carbon accounting software: this will be completed by October 2026, from which point we will be able to fully update this platform and accurately show how we are tracking.
