2.3. Climate partnerships

We are active in local and regional climate partnerships, such as the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance.

Council is an active member of key local and regional partnerships addressing climate change.

Firstly, we host the Indigo Environment Advisory Committee (IEAC). IEAC plays a pivotal role in and initiatives. Established in 2010, the IEAC has been instrumental in helping to shape Council's environment and sustainability policies, and providing advice to key initiatives and plans to create a greener and more sustainable future.

Indigo is also a proud member of the Goulburn Murray Climate Alliance (GMCA), a powerful network of stakeholders in the Goulburn Murray region. Together, we're tackling climate change head-on through innovative projects and cutting-edge research, ensuring that our communities can adapt and thrive in the face of environmental challenges such as climate change.

In 2021, we joined forces with the Cities Power Partnership (CPP), Australia's largest network of local councils paving the way towards a thriving, zero-emissions future. With over 165 councils from across the country on board, covering 65% of the population, we're part of a collective force driving change at a national level.

We're also involved in the Climate Partners Advisory Group (CPAG) and a number of other climate and sustainability-related initiatives.
