2.1. Community sustainability grants

We provide annual community sustainability grants for solar generation and energy efficiency improvements at community facilities.

Indigo Shire is home to many inspiring community organisations and groups who are committed to responding to the challenges of climate change.

Lets start by giving a shout-out to some of the trailblazing organisations in our community. We've got Totally Renewable Yackandandah (TRY), Totally Renewable Beechworth (TRB), Totally Renewable Indigo North (TRIN), and a bunch of Landcare networks and groups. These powerhouses are on mission to make a real difference in our region.

We've been a proud supporter of these amazing groups and many others since 2018 through our Community Sustainability Grants Program. The program provides around $20,000 each year to fund exciting projects that tackle climate change and other local environmental issues head-on.

We also help community organisations in other non-financial ways. Whether it's writing letters of support for funding applications, offering technical advice and project management support, or promoting community initiatives through our various communication channels, we can help projects come to life.
